With a little love, a timepiece will last for generations. Our mechanical timepieces are made to stand the test of time. But they are subject to wear and tear, maintain your watch on time.
It is good to know that the components in your watch are subject to wear and tear. The accuracy of a watch depends, among other things, on high-quality lubricants to minimise friction. These oils can dry out and should be replaced on time. Therefore, it is recommended that your watch is serviced at least every four years at the Staudt service centre. The watch is then disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned and re-lubricated. Superficial scratches on the watch case are removed and gaskets are replaced.
Gaskets can dry out, which can compromise water resistance. We therefore recommend having your watch checked for water resistance every year by your jeweller or at our service centre.
