Taking care
With good maintenance, your watch will last for multiple generations.
We do our utmost to ensure that the longevity of our watches extends over many generations. We use only the best materials in the capable hands of true craftsmen. A mechanical watch is a piece of technical craftsmanship. A spring, wheels and a balance ensure that you can tell the time 24/7, without the use of electricity. This ingenuity does involve a certain amount of care, so we would like to offer you the following three tips.
Tips
-
Tip 1
Have your mechanical watch serviced at least once every four years.Â
The parts in the mechanical movement of your watch are subject to wear. They depend on the correct amount of lubrication and good oil. This can dry out. In addition, dirt may get into your watch, which can accumulate between the wheels.
For these reasons, you should bring your watch to the Staudt service centre for a service at least once every four years. This will ensure that it remains in good working order for later generations.

Tip 2
Make sure that your watch's crown is always properly closed.
The water resistance of a watch is measured in bar, atmospheres or meters. Our watches are water resistant to three bar, which means that they are splash proof.
A three bar watch can withstand a light rain shower or hand washing, as long as the crown is closed. But it cannot withstand swimming, intense heat in combination with humidity (sweating) or showering.
The water resistance of a watch is not permanent. Gaskets can dry out. You should, therefore, have the water resistance of your watch checked by your jeweler each year.

Tip 3
Avoid heavy shocks and magnetism.Â
The balance of your watch is equipped with high-quality shock protection. Nevertheless, the tiny axes within the balance are extremely sensitive to shocks. So, try to avoid activities that can cause shocks, such as gold and woodwork
